We started missing pixels (dots) in the old chip, so this really cleared it up. Everything went perfectly well. It was amazing actually. Something was not aligned the first try, but taking it apart and redoing went faster the second time. My wife is still patting me on the back:)

Could have included a new thermal pad. Now I have to order a new thermal pad since the existing one crumbled when I removed the heat sink from the DLP chip so I’m now waiting for one to arrive from Amazon so I can see if the TV works. Bummer.

My Miti 83" was not like that shown in video, however was able to find DLP chip and replace. Got it back together (no screws left over :) ) and fired it up. Worked great. Ready for another 10 years.

My low mileage DLP finally developed the dreaded white dots that a quick internet search revealed is very common. , the installation process was clear. I took my time, id'ed wires, cleaned dust with compressed air, and followed advice re: sparks. The mirror which reflects light from the DLP chip was hazy with a patina that I very carefully cleaned with methyl hydrate and a microfibre cloth from a screen protector kit. This step is not mentioned in tutorials. The bottom line - our old DLP TV has a spectacular picture again and is not sitting in our local landfill. I'm very thankful that Shop Jimmy enables this sort of repair story - Thanks! Read Less
